  • Adopt-A-Block


    Adopt-A-Block, more commonly known as "Keep It Clean Oakland" or KICO,  is project created encourage both residents of Oakland  and the university students in cleaning activities throughout Oakland's neighborhoods. Volunteers work with one another to clean, repair, and improve the Oakland area. The project focuses heavily on keeping the area clean through simple cleaning efforts throughout the year while at the same time enhancing opportunities for students to feel a sense of ownership and pride in the community. Sisters of Theta Phi Alpha often volunteer their Saturday mornings to cleaning a stretch of South Oakland street.

  • Global Links


    Global Links is an organization that recovers  and collects unused medical supplies, surplus equipment, and office furnishings from U.S. healthcare systems for redistribution to hospitals and clinics in the poorest developing countries. Most importantly, the organization is careful to  send recipients only items they can  use. With the help of volunteers and staff, hours are spent hours sorting and processing various donated materials. Theta Phi Alpha sisters will spend hours helping to sort through  all of these precious supplies at the organization's local headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh.

  • Family House

     

    Family House is a non-profit corporation that provides a precious and greatly appreciated home for patients and families who travel to Pittsburgh for treatment of serious or life-threatening illnesses. Family House is able to provide a comfortable haven to help our guests through stressful times. Theta Phi Alpha sisters will go to the home and cook meals for the families as well as provide a much-needed social outlet for these people in need.
